Owner
From the first time we discussed the sale of Red Buffalo Ranch in Chautauqua County, Dean Goodell knew he had a challenge. On the one hand, we, the owners, felt we had the most beautiful ranch in Kansas. Maybe all owners feel that way about their property. But we threw in a curve. We had granted the Kansas Land Trust a conservation easement on 4200+ acres that we wished to sell. The mission was to preserve native tallgrass prairie as a working cattle ranch. Dean roamed the acres of big blue stem and the ravines of superb hunting with excellent water available. He absorbed the beauty and value and began to communicate our story with the same appreciation that we had come to love. But the easements were not popular with cattlemen. It was a new concept for the industry and not fully understood. But even through a long, three year odyssey he stuck with us and turned our relationship into an educational mission for both seller and potential buyers. At one point he said, we have to find another Bill Kurtis, whose primary mission is conservation wrapped in a practical package. Dean maintained the highest standards of his craft and when a buyer came forward it matched the same love and commitment that I had for thirty years. The Delaware Tribe of Indians will carry on the conservation mission. In finding and selecting the right buyer, Dean earned my highest admiration and created a new model for conservation. He proved that conservation easements work for cattle ranches and will save the Kansas tallgrass prairie for perpetuity. Dean Goodell made it happen. Thank you Dean. Dean was a pleasure to have as my real estate agent. He was always readily available to answer any questions and provide continual updates on potential buyers as well as marketing/advertising materials. The materials such as the video and photo footage provided were of great quality and assisted with the advertising and sale of the property. There are a lot of realtors out there, but his honesty, trustworthiness and patience during the process sets him apart from others. He will make the process simple and stress free and will ensure you receive an offer that fits what your property deserves! Jim & Jane - Anderson County - 450 acres

When Alan Pollom of The Nature Conservancy told me of a Realtor operating in Eastern Kansas more than two years ago I soon thought we had discovered a biological entity in this agent more rare than Mead's Milkweed and more endangered. In the intervening time we've come to know that Dean is not only a wildlife aficionado but also a conservationist and Realtor par excellence. We owe Alan an abiding debt for that referral. The right superlatives don't exist to describe Dean's diligence and patience in leading us to a very "unique property". -Gary Tegtmeier, Bourbon County & Anderson County - 172 Acres
